Poinsettias Originated from Mexico
Poinsettias originate from Mexico where they grow into large shrubs. The Aztecs used to make a red dye and a fever control from Poinsettias leaves.

Perhaps the first religious connotation placed on Poinsettias originated during the Seventeenth Century. Due to the plant's brilliant color and holiday mood.

The growing conditions out there in the hot sun must have been similar to those in Mexico where poinsettias originated because it really made itself at home.

The Legend of the Poinsettia, originated in Mexico in the 16th century. A poor brother and sister had nothing to offer baby Jesus. They searched and searched for something special to bring him, but had no luck finally found Poinsettia to serve to Jesus.
