India is scheduled to get a boost in telecom and TV thanks to the latest communication satellite, the GSAT-5P. The countdown for the launch of the satellite has already begun at 10:04 AM today.
ISRO was to launch India's heaviest communication satellite GSAT-5P, weighing 2130 kg, with 24 C-band transponders and 12 extended C-band transponders. GSAT-5P was scheduled to replace the INSAT-2E to provide continuity of telecom.
The satellite, officially called GSAT-5P, will blast off on the state-run space agency's geosynchronous satellite launch
