Nara Chandrababu Naidu born April 20, 1950 was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004.
Demanding a relief package for farmers affected by recent rains, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu started his Hunger strike.
The leader of opposition continued his fast along with his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislators and senior leaders at New MLA.
Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu, who is on a hunger strike demanding compensation for farmers, was forcibly taken into custody and shifted to hospital in the wee hours of Monday morning after a seven-hour long high drama at the new MLA quarters in Hyderabad which saw police clashing with TDP workers leaving many of them injured.
Naidu's blood sugar level is believed to have dropped on Sunday night, forcing the government to act and shift him to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences.
Chandrababu's son Lokesh, MLC YVB Rajendra Prasad and several others were injured in the police action during the arrest of the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
A case under Section 309 of Indian Penal Code (attempt to commit suicide) has been registered against Naidu while a case under Section 353 IPC (preventing a public servant from discharging his duties) was registered against other TDP leaders.
